Usk Valley's Alpaca Journey
A casual visit to a local village show got us hooked on alpacas.
We loved the cute look, the temperament and the thought of owning these lovely animals. Over the past 10 years we have not been disappointed and we continue to enjoy owning and working with them as much today as when we started. We initially started with a small selection of pet boys but as our knowledge and confidence grew, we wanted to breed and have cria (babies). Subsequently, our herd has grown and we have been able to supply animals to others who have had the same dream.
Our son took a greater interest in the husbandry of these animals, particularly in breeding and genetics. He subsequently went to Australia for 12 months to learn more from the world’s leading alpaca breeder. Whilst there he worked with over 3,000 alpacas and, on his return, using the knowledge he had gained, he now runs our breeding programme.

We proudly show our herd and are have won multiple 1st Places at the British Alpacas Society National Show, the 'Crufts' of the alpaca world. We have also enter a number of regional shows up and down the UK every year, picking up a number of 1st Places and also Championships and Reserve Championships. We are proud to be breeding the best quality huacaya alpacas in Wales.
